BRENT ROBERTS

Raku Vase
I am an Arizona transplant (a 50+ year resident:) growing up in Phoenix, going to college in Flagstaff and making a career as a community college faculty member in Prescott (a small community in Arizona’s central highlands.) In 2022 my wife and I moved to Fort Collins to be closer to a son and his family (grandkids!)
During (and after) high school, I was extremely fortunate to be introduced to and instructed in ceramics and photography by a series of amazing teachers and and to have the support of a peer group which valued exploring art. While I have had gaps in my practice, I always seem to return to my art, either as a potter or as a photographer. Occasionally I have combined the two disciplines, as you can see in my web portfolio.

And for virtually my entire life, I have spent (and continue to spend) as much time as possible in the outdoors: hiking, backpacking, bicycling, river running, skiing, and mentoring and instructing young people in the wilderness. I think my work as an artist is built on and reflects those experiences.
