Jennifer Brakefield is an artist and instructor working in Northern Colordao. She graduated from Colorado State University in 2014 with a Masters in Fine Art after completing a Bachelors of Fine Art at the Maryland Institute, College of Art.

Her work is made through interaction with the landscape that allows a recording of the experience in intimately responsive media. Brakefield’s work attempts to place the viewer in a position to read the piece as a visual journey that recreates her own perspective and place within nature.

Working in situ with natural surroundings provides a language for the artist to bring back to the studio to translate into larger works. The result is an experience retold on canvas.
