ALENE STARKEY

Alene Starkey

Alene was born and raised in Pueblo, Colorado  She attended CSU where she met her husband, Rod.  He was a forestry major so they spent many years living in the mountain she loved.  Their first summer was on Twin Sisters mountain above Estes Park, at 11,400 feet,  as fire lookouts.

After moving back to Ft Collins in 1975 she became a Realtor.  When retiring, after 32+ years, she decided to study her favorite art medium, watercolor.  Diane Perry, her first instructor. is the reason she continued her watercolor journey.  She has added pastel to her favorites.  Having no art experience until retiring it's been quite a challenge, but one she loves.  So far she has received two honorable mentions at art shows.

A few years ago Alene became a member of Windsor Lake Artists, an enthusiastic group of artists wo enjoy Painting together.  Many are excellent, well-known artists who are willing to give newer artists like Alene guidance when needed.  We, as a group, have been invited to many art shows.

Alene is honored to be a part of Sanderosa Art Gallery.
