I first became interested in Chinese Brush Painting in the early 1980's.  I took classes at Orange  Coast College in Huntington Beach, California with teacher Mai Chang.  In 1985 the art class went to China as a cultural group for three weeks.  Of course, we did do the tourist thing, but we also had the opportunity to visit an Art Academy in Beijing and also visit several artists in their homes.

As my kids grew older and got more involved in activities I put brush painting aside so I could be involved with them.  I picked up brush painting again when we moved to Fort Collins in 2003.
