ROSS MIEIR

Local self-taught artist, Ross Mieir started around 1970 with graphite sketches and ink stipplings of his surroundings, friends and favorite musicians. 

Expanding his work to include acrylic and oil paints, he turned his subject to fantasy lands after receiving a book on castles from his eldest daughter. 

Exploring colors and textures, his most recent painting have incorporated molding clay for a 3D effect on his canvases. 

Ross' works hang in collections through the US and in Japan. A 2007 sketch was converted into a tattoo for a NBA player.
